Number 7 – Sophia Pavelle
No conservationist has captured the imagination of the British human public more this year than Sophia Pavelle. Her infectious enthusiasm and endlessly positive demeanour are a rare source of joy in the sometimes rather depressing human world of conservation. She can barely contain her joy upon seeing an animal and the result is absolutely infectious. In addition, she has an uncanny ability to modernise conservation messages and a unique skill at making complex scientific arguments easily digestible for younger audiences. We’re huge fans and are really looking forward to the release of her book “Forgot Me Not” launching with Bloomsbury next year. Watch this space!
