News from the Natural World: Human national flags are symbols and we animals leave them to the symbol minded.
Over to our resident Canine investigator, Anthony Umoh aka The Dog.
“Who needs flags? Honestly, I don’t know why human beings get so emotional at the sight of a flag. The Union Jack is overrated and it’s not just a humble dogs opinion. It is the same opinion throughout the entire animal kingdom. We aren’t insecure about flags, we’ve got better and bigger things to worry about. Such as chasing our tail until we admit defeat and go home for dinner.”
The Dogs brow furrowed as he continued “Domestic dogs are the rulers of the animal kingdom so we really feel there is no point in all of the patriotism shown towards a particular flag. At the end of the day, you are all human beings, one species. The best part of this is we dogs believe in supporting each other and not trying to enslave different cultures and countries for materialism and the honour of the flag.”
Human National Flags are Meaningless Symbols
Ouch, that truth hit home! Unperturbed The Dog carried on “Human beings can be so materialistic at times it astonishes me to be honest. We fight and defend other dogs and have a duty to stick together throughout the tough times. Can you believe countries go to war with other countries just because of a national flag? At this point, you can only have pity on human beings. Humans are willing to let their value and principles go just for a bit of fabric or money. I can’t imagine a domestic dog doing this, it would be too shameful. This is our advice to symbol-minded humans, please forgot all of that and just try to have fun, life is too short to worry about a flag.”
