News from the Natural World: Starving Humans in 2050 have begun to ask whether they can start harvesting aliens for consumption.
Again the great seers of the animal kingdom, the Naked Mole Rats, have been able to look far into the future. Unlike the human world, it is the ugliest creatures in the animal kingdom who possess the most power. Therefore it was the Naked Mole Rats who were granted the gift of far sight. These wrinkled rats do this once a year at the great gathering of the future. This year they decided to use the opportunity to see what fate would befall their domesticated animal brethren who currently served as food for their human overlords. The Naked Mole Rats peered into the year 2050 but what they saw shocked them to their core.

The humans had managed to consume every single domesticated animal on the planet. Not a single one was left. Chicken, Lamb, Cow, Pig, Duck you name it, it had been stuffed in a sandwich and was gone. But the horror didn’t stop there, once the domesticated animals had run out, the humans drained the ocean. This then heralded what was referred to as the “Scoff On Sight” era where humans all over the globe ate quite literally any animal they could see. Thus the era from 2023 – 2045 saw the destruction of all remaining animals left on planet earth. But the final 5 years was when things got really weird.

The Red Planet become Planet Musk, Saturn becomes Planet Amazon and Uranus was renamed Trump World. This era of space exploration also heralded the discovery of alien life in 2045. Month after month the humans found more and more alien life. Countless worlds were inhabited by species of all shapes and sizes. Of course, 90% of them were wiped out by disease. In addition, another 5% were wiped out from depression after being forced to conform to human religions. That left around 5% of alien life by 2050. But with humans on earth starving they were faced with the question as to whether it was ethical to eat aliens. As the Naked Mole Rats vision was ending a human turned to them and answered….
