As human society began to devolve at the turn of the 21st Century it had far-reaching ramifications. The internet led to a decrease in collective intelligence. Human minds were numbed by fingertip pornography and social media. The latter truly caused a decline in IQ as humans everywhere were led to believe that their opinion was important on every single topic under the sun. But one thing emerged that was more horrifying than the rest of it all combined. In addition to being extremely annoying, it had almost no value. It was called pranking.
It’s Just a Prank Bro
A practical joke, or prank, was a mischievous trick played on someone, generally causing the victim to experience embarrassment, perplexity, confusion, or discomfort. A human who performs a practical joke is called a “practical joker” or “prankster”. It started with clever and imaginative shows like Trigger Happy TV, the Ali G Show and CKY but quickly descended into Punkd. But things didn’t stop there. Social media morons got involved.
On May 14th, 2014, YouTuber DennisCeeTV uploaded a video titled “Selling Marijuana in the Hood Prank,” in which he sells marijuana and then says “it’s just a prank” when a victim pushes him for soliciting his table. In the following 15 months, the video gathered upwards of 1.1 million views and 650 comments. But it wasn’t just humans who had seen the video, a Tiger Shark by the name of Timmy also watched the video with glee.
“The first time I saw the video I was just overjoyed. I loved it. The human just did anything he wanted. Didn’t matter how annoying or aggressive it was. They just did anything. Slapped someone, grabbed their girlfriend, insulted them, tried to start a fight, literally anything. And then when the situation got heated they’d just scream “It’s just a prank bro.”
