With weeks to go before the CopOut26 climate summit, documents show the human PM Boris Johnson being warned about the risks of damage to the UK economy. Where is the risk coming from? From dirty god damn green investment. This was all revealed after a treasury leak highlighted the rift between Johnson and Sunak over the costs of a zero-carbon economy. As Johnson looks to position the UK as the leader of global efforts to fight climate change and cut down greenhouse gas emissions as host of the Glasgow CopOut26 meeting. The documents show the Treasury is warning of serious economic damage to the UK economy and future tax rises if the UK overspends on, or misdirects, green investment.
