News from the Natural World: If Animals Were As Intelligent As Humans – we find out just how they would feel.
We animals know that humans have a really hard time with guilt. In its true sense, guilt is a feeling of remorse or sadness over a past action, experienced when a human thinks they’ve caused harm or breached their flimsy moral code. Humans call it a moral compass. Humans values and how they process their emotions all inform the way they react to certain situations. Since achieving heightened intelligence humans have become aware of things that other animals perhaps are not. The slaughter of all life of earth, the endless destruction of the natural world, overfishing, industrial meat factories. Since the turn of the 21st century more and more humans became aware that it was their species that was responsible for so much needless pain and suffering. We wanted to do a little experiment to see what would happen to 5 other species of animals if they gain human-level intelligence. We even chucked a tree in there as well for a bit of a laugh. Would they feel guilty?
So without further ado let’s meet some animals who just accidentally gained human-level intelligence…

Make it stop, make it stop! All those baby seals, so many of them, AHHHHHHHHH. Ok, ok some of them I had to eat I guess but there were many, too many that I just flipped in the air with my tail or snatched of beaches when I was peckish. Was I truly eating for survival or was I just a bit peckish? I know for sure I could have done without a few of those shark livers. Make it stop please, make it stop!!!
